Helena Elizabeth VAN DEN BERG - deur Johan J POTTAS
Met die saamstel van die VAN DEN BERG register deur Johan J Pottas, gepubliseer in 2008, het ek op die meisie se geskiedenis afgekom en per toeval ook die boek van Ds August Daniel Liïckhoff deurgelees. Dit het my aangespoor om presies vas te stel wie is die meisie wat so 'n indruk gemaak het op hom.

VAN ROOYEN FAMILIE - deur Jopie VAN ROOYEN
Ek is eintlik nog 'n "kleuter" in die wêreld van genealogie maar aangespoor deur die geldigheid van 'n Chinese spreuk dat "To forget one's ancestors is to be a brook without a source, a tree without roots" het ek in Bloemfontein met hulp van Zouna Fonternel begin met 'n soektog oor my man se familie, die van Rooyen's uit Dordrecht in die Oos-Kaap.

J W Sauerman het n dagboek van sy ervaring as boere gevangene gehou. Sy dagboek beslaan ongeveer 95 A5 geskrewe bladsye. Dit begin as volg. "Den heer J W Sauerman Harrismith OVS, Nilgiris near Wellington Hills South India 4de Maart l902 "Geschiedenis van my gevangenschap. Ik begin hier maar de einde weet ik niet waar dat ik dan zal weest"

Die storie begin met die artikel oor die rol van hierdie penkoppe wat as "Die Kinders" bekend
gestaan het in die Anglo Boereoorlog. Gedurende 22 Januarie 1943 verskyn daar in die
Huisgenoot "n artikel deur Veldkornet E. F. RÓHM met die opskrif "KINDERS OP KOMMANDO."
