18 Maart 2012 The 2012 Annual General Meeting of the Genealogical Society of South Africa
entitled GO COUNTRY and based in Uniondale was organised by members of the eGGSA Branch

Just like the original Go Country project, this report snowballed as it developed: People who could not attend the Workshop in George asked for copies of the talks. There were also some at the workshop itself who were unable understand some of the Afrikaans talks. We have, therefore, translated all Afirkaan talks, and they are available in both English and Afrikaans in this report. Naturally people also wanted to know what happened at the AGM itself; the awards created a lot of interest and excitement too; and we had numerous requests for photographs.

Some photographs of the various events (click on a photograph to enlarge it):

People started arriving on Thursday afternoon; many members of the GSSA meeting each other face to face for the first time. We had supper at a local restaurant, where the ‘workers' had a final briefing session.
