Petro gave a brief talk about the GSSA, its goals and objectives. She presented the branch with some of the GSSA's products to enable the branch to start their own library.
The establishment of the Southern Cape branch of the GSSA received wide coverage in the local media. Two articles appeared in the Eden Express, one factual about the GSSA by Denise Lloyd and the other in the form of a letter from the editor, Mandi Botha relating her experience when visiting an old family farm. The establishment of the branch created a lot of interest amongst the local community and thus it came about that an article appeared in the George Herald  "The Grosvenor is still remembered"
The Southern Cape Branch appreciates all the publicity they received and is raring to go.
